Be The Switch - Week 2

Key Scripture (Exodus 3:1-6): 3 One day Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro,[a] the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai,[b] the mountain of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush. Moses stared in amazement. Though the bush was engulfed in flames, it didn’t burn up. “This is amazing,” Moses said to himself. “Why isn’t that bush burning up? I must go see it.”

When the Lord saw Moses coming to take a closer look, God called to him from the middle of the bush, “Moses! Moses!”

“Here I am!” Moses replied.

“Do not come any closer,” the Lord warned. “Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground. I am the God of your father[c]—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” When Moses heard this, he covered his face because he was afraid to look at God.

YOU CAN'T BE WHERE YOU REFUSE TO GO.

God does EVERYTHING with PURPOSE.

BIG IDEA:

PRESENT PEOPLE FULFILL GOD'S PURPOSE

The echo chamber effect results in an information bubble around a user, where that person is only exposed to articles (information inside the bubble) that support their previously held beliefs.

POINT 1:

BE WHERE YOU ARE

Exodus 3:1

Faithfulness is a dying trait.

POINT 2:

BE AVAILABLE AND GO

Exodus 3:3-4

Being present leads to finding our purpose.

POINT 3:

MAKE EVERY GROUND HOLY (AGAIN)

Exodus 3:5-6

Scripture (1 Peter 2:9-10): 9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests,[a] a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

10

“Once you had no identity as a people;

    now you are God’s people.

Once you received no mercy;

  •     now you have received God’s mercy.”
  • What about you?

  • Live for what's in front of you.
  • Embrace interruptions.
  • Honor those present with you.
  • Make moments so God can do His work.
